Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Apple Valley, CA 92307
Start Date: September 9, 2026
Location: Apple Valley, California
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:30), Friday-Sunday weekend block schedule. Weekends may exceed every other to accommodate unit needs. Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Highlights:
- Level III NICU with 14 beds serving approximately 190 births per month
- Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
- Patient ratios staffed by acuity, up to 1:3; no on-call required
- Free parking and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
- Opportunity to work with diverse patient diagnoses including prematurity, RDS, NAS, and neonatal sepsis
- May float to Mother/Baby for babies; if couplet experienced, may float fully
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in Level III NICU (required, hard stop)
- Previous travel experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced before start), PALS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Patient ratio experience of 2-3 patients
- Proficiency in required skills including administration of blood products, high-risk delivery attendance, central line management, ventilator management, PICC line management, and conscious sedation
- 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application; scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
