Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a regional healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized neonatal patient care in a Level III NICU environment. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to neonates from 27 weeks gestation and above, including high-risk deliveries and stabilization.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 3 years of nursing experience; 1 year of NICU experience; active BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; valid state license (compact license accepted); community hospital experience preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization is desirable, along with familiarity with Epic charting system
- On Call: Not required
- Weekends: Expected to work during weekends
- Patient Ratios: 3 neonates per shift during days; ratios for night shifts as scheduled
- Additional Unit Information: Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, managing neonatal procedures, supporting family education, and handling complex neonatal care needs. Shift orientation includes 24 hours of training.
- Position Requirements: Candidate must have at least 3 years of nursing experience with specific neonatal care skills, including airway management, infusion procedures, and neonatal stabilization techniques. Must have current certification in BLS and NRP, and be able to attend delivery and admission processes.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must include responses regarding prior work experience at healthcare facilities similar to the facility described, specifically if they have worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem. Two references covering at least one year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last three years are required before start date.
