Job Summary:
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed at a healthcare organization in the region. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients within a level 3 NICU, managing high acuity cases such as prematurity, sepsis, and respiratory distress. The role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced RNs with a passion for neonatal care to contribute to a high-quality patient environment.

Job Details:

  • Position: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN
  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting on 09/09/2026 and ending on 12/09/2026
  • Schedule: Days, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 2 years of experience as a NICU RN, including 1 year in a specialty unit, current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications, experience with administration of blood products, neonatal intubation, PICC line management, and ventilator management.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-frequency ventilation, managing NICU IV therapies, and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
  • Float: Float to nearby units may be required for certain cases; flexibility is expected.
  • Additional Information:
    • The position involves caring for neonates, infants, with a focus on high-acuity cases such as prematurity and neonatal sepsis.
    • The unit practices a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio, staff by acuity, with designated interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
    • Candidates should be proficient in electronic charting systems, preferably Epic, and comfortable performing complex procedures such as spinal taps, ROP exams, and managing PICC lines.
    • Candidates must be willing to work a block schedule with the ability to cover specific holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, or New Years Day.
    • The facility is a Level 3 NICU with approximately 190 births per month, emphasizing high-level neonatal care.
