Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neonatal Nursing in a Level 2B Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position supports a 25-bed unit that encompasses labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, operating rooms, and antepartum units. The role involves rotating day and evening shifts, including night shifts with a call requirement, serving a patient population of mothers and babies with varying acuity levels.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts with day rotations (7 a.m. 7 p.m., 11 a.m. 11 p.m., 7 p.m. 7 a.m.) and one night of call; evening and night shifts do not rotate. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, a minimum of 3 years working at one location, including 2 years as a traveler in a similar setting, and at least 2 years of NICU experience.
- Skill Sets: Experience in Special Care Nursery and newborn care, with pertinent certifications.
- Patient Population: All neonatal and maternal cases, including labor, postpartum, and newborn nursery patients.
- Unit Description: 25-bed unit with designated areas such as labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, operating rooms, and antepartum units. Average daily census ranges from 15 to 25 mothers and babies.
- Certifications Required: AHA BLS and NRP.
- EMR System: EPIC charting system.
