Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU NEURO) Registered Nurse position in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves providing specialized critical care for neurological patients within a large tertiary/quaternary Level I trauma center. The position requires delivering high-level nursing care across various ICU units, including stroke, neurosurgery, and neuroscience specialties, supporting the organizations mission to serve the community.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; active, unencumbered Hawaii registered nurse license required to submit ("willing to apply" or "pending" will be declined); current BLS/HCP, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications; licenses and certifications must be current and valid through the initial contract; passage of an EKG exam with a score of 80% or better during orientation.
- Professional Experience: Three (3) or more years of ICU Staff Registered Nurse experience excluding travel assignments in large tertiary/quaternary, Level I trauma centers; experience in mixed Medical/Surgical ICU and/or specialty ICUs preferred; experience in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) desired; previous ICU Float Pool experience highly desired; previous travel ICU experience through Queens Health System highly preferred.
- Other Requirements: Talent must complete all elements of compliance and upload documentation to the Medefis portal at least 10 days prior to the start date; failure to do so will delay or cancel the assignment; all travelers are required to float based on operational need; limited RTO may be approved after 30 days on assignment.
- Additional Information: The organization is open to Hawaii residents but traveling rates will not be offered; all compliance documentation including a current NURSYS report must be submitted on time. If necessary, staff may be assigned to roles such as nursing assistant or safety sitter if not needed on an RN-specific unit.
