Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Athens, TX 75751
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Athens, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Patient ratio 1:5. Assignment duration of 77 days with 12 hours of orientation.
Highlights:
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with 36 rooms and daily census of 18-25 patients
- Epic charting system utilized for documentation
- Interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Unit Secretary
- Care for diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Comprehensive orientation provided to ensure successful transition
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (state or compact) required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV management, cardiac drips, dysrhythmia interpretation, and medical-surgical patient care
- Proficiency in accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, and wound care
- Must complete onboarding requirements within 48 hours of contract signing
- Geographic restrictions apply; candidates residing in certain local counties are not eligible
