• Setting: Adult acute care inpatient float pool
• Specialty: Med/Surg Tele Float, Telemetry Nurse, Medical-Surgical Nursing
• Location: Knoxville, TN 37916
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Day shift, 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
• Charting System: Cerner preferred
• Medication System: Omnicell

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS required or obtainable after offer
• Ability to pass EKG testing before start date
• Comfortable floating to MS/Tele, SD/PCU, and potentially ICU based on skill set and unit need
• Strong clinical adaptability and confidence working with adult patient populations
• Cerner experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients across multiple inpatient units
• Serve as the primary nurse for assigned patients in a fast-paced float pool environment
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and carry out physician orders accurately and efficiently
• Support post-surgical, cardiology, nephrology, neuroscience, pulmonary, oncology, and short-stay patient populations as needed
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established unit and floating protocols
• Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity, census, and unit assignments
