• Unit Setting: Postpartum and newborn care with a focus on safe, family-centered recovery

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Active RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience in postpartum nursing, couplet care, and normal newborn care
• Strong clinical knowledge of thermoregulation, glucose management, discharge teaching, and postpartum assessments
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and float to NICU or Labor & Delivery if needed
• Two professional references covering the last 3 years are required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postpartum nursing care for vaginal birth and cesarean section patients
• Care for newborns and support families with feeding, bonding, and discharge education
• Monitor and manage common postpartum needs including lochia, fundal checks, incision care, and pain control
• Support newborn assessments, thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, and phototherapy as indicated
• Administer medications and therapies such as heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate, and blood products when appropriate
• Assist with post-op care for procedures such as tubal ligation and circumcision
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and contribute to a positive unit experience for patients and families
