Medical Surgical with Telemetry specializes in providing high-quality nursing care to adult, geriatric, and medical/surgical patients in a hospital setting. This role involves delivering patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation while collaborating with the healthcare team. The position offers an opportunity to work on a telemetry unit with a focus on self-study of telemetry strips and passing a dysrhythmia test to ensure competency.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid license/certificate, EPIC electronic medical record experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months, ACLS certification, at least 2 years of recent nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical care experience is advantageous; candidates with such experience may be floated to critical care units, including the intensive care unit.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to cover non-critical care inpatient units, including emergency department boarding patients. Traveler must be able to respond within one hour if called in.
- Additional Information: The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance, with a basic dysrhythmia test required in the first week of the assignment. The assignment duration is from 09/14/2026 to 12/13/2026, with an estimated work week of 36 hours and potential overtime. The facility maintains telemetry ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights, and med/surg ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. This position requires every other weekend rotation.
