Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurses are needed at a healthcare organization located in Madison, WI. This role involves working on a fast-paced neuro specialty inpatient unit, providing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions. The position offers an opportunity to enhance skills in evidence-based practice within a collaborative team environment.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, with shifts beginning at 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, covering Sunday through Saturday, including weekend rotation; some holidays based on operational need.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Epic electronic health record experience, and passing a telemetry exam prior to start with a strict passing criterion.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with neuro patients, trauma level II experience, and familiarity with inpatient charting systems including Epic.
- Additional Information: Travelers will be required to pass a telemetry test before starting. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with diagnoses such as multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, trauma, spinal fractures, and stroke.
- Float: Float rotation may be required as needed.
