Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Night Shift 4th Floor. Located in a healthcare facility, this role involves providing comprehensive patient care to medical and post-operative patients in an acute care setting. The position requires dependable and experienced RNs to ensure quality care during night hours, with a focus on patient safety and teamwork.
Job Details:
- Certifications Required: BLS (AHA)
- Education and Experience: At least 1 year of Medical Surgical (MS) nursing experience; 2 years preferred
- Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. Client rates are reduced by $8.00/hour.
- Shift: 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday, with a 30-minute punch-out.
- Schedule: Night shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Patient Population: Post-operative knee, hip, shoulder, thyroidectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and medical patients such as hypertension, heart failure, pneumonia, COPD, altered mental status, TIA, diabetes mellitus, sepsis, UTI, AKI.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 4-6 patients during days, 5-6 at night, occasionally up to 7.
- Additional Responsibilities: Charge RN assignments, float to units such as ICU, IMC, or ED, and on-site telemonitoring support.
- Equipment and Tools: CPAP and BiPAP (rare), central monitors for rhythm calling, and on-site teletechs.
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Orientation: 3 days for agency clinicians, including classroom training and shadowing.
- Notes: Prior work experience with the facility must have ended at least 6 months before submission. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
