Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse is sought for a facility located in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This role involves providing acute, patient-centered care to a variety of patients including those with cardiac, respiratory, renal, orthopedic, and oncologic needs. The position offers the opportunity to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on teamwork and clinical excellence.
Job Details:
- Position: Medical Surgical Floor
- Specialty: MS Medical Surgical
- Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. 7 a.m.)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, including weekends as scheduled
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, ability to work in the United States, and submission of a license to submit. All candidates must include a copy of their unexpired drivers license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic charting system, ability to interpret cardiac strips, and familiarity with acute care protocols.
- Additional Information:
- Unit utilizes a 50-mile radius rule; all submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired drivers license.
- Unit notes include ratios mostly 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts; some units may have 7 patients towards shift end depending on acuity.
- In-house EPIC electronic medical record system with bedside charting.
- Charge nurse available on all units; night charge takes patients.
- All units utilize CNAs.
- The holiday rotation includes working scheduled holidays.
- Tele Phillips monitors are used; RNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.
- RT manages CPAP & BiPAP vents; RT in-house 24/7.
- IV team available until 10 p.m. weekdays and until 3:30 p.m. on weekends.
- In-house pharmacy available 24/7 with use of medication dispensing systems.
- The facility is very traveler friendly, with flexibility for requests to work primarily on a specific unit.
- No false nails are permitted.
- The facility is trauma level 2, with a focus on acute care.
