Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in MedSurg at a healthcare facility in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This role involves providing patient care across various MedSurg units, with responsibilities including managing chest tubes, IV therapy, port/central lines, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. The position offers an opportunity to float within the hospital to different units, including ER Holding/Boarding and Outpatient Infusions.
Job Details:
- Location: Sheboygan, WI
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Skills Required: Chest tubes, stable trach management, IV skills, port/central lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, titrating drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, argatroban), EPIC experience
- Support on the Unit: HUC (Days only), CNA (vitals, blood glucose; no IV insertions/removals), charge nurse, phlebotomy, RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), OT/PT/ST (weekday), remote telemonitoring
- Charting System/Equipment: EMR: EPIC, IV Pumps: Alaris, Med Dispenser: Pyxis
- Float Requirements: Will float within various MedSurg units across the hospital, including ER Holding/Boarding
- Orientation: Full shift orientation including paperwork, EPIC login, and brief orientation to floated units as assigned
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other week; shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM or 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM; schedule made 4-6 weeks in advance; options for block scheduling available
- On Call: Not required
- Holiday Expectations: May work 50% of holidays during the contract period
