Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Patient ratio 1:6. 16-hour orientation provided. Weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract duration.
Highlights:
- 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions
- Patient population includes acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical patients
- Unit equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring for comprehensive patient surveillance
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment and stroke recovery
- Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
- Proficiency in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, including blood product administration, IV management, telemetry monitoring, and neurological care
- Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
