Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nursing Position in Tyler, Texas. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit with telemetry capabilities. The position requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to meet the diverse needs of adult patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 2 years of experience; experience with charting systems, specifically Epic; COVID-19 and flu vaccines unknown; Texas state or compact license in hand at the time of submittal; must list all time off requests at the time of application.
- Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience preferred; experience in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry environment; proficient in managing Ports, Central lines, PICC lines, and wound care; knowledgeable in dysrhythmia interpretation, CVA, and NG tube management.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Unit has 18 private rooms and 1 semi-private room, accommodating up to 20 patients.
- Patient age groups include young adults through geriatrics with a broad range of care needs.
- Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, and Pharmacy.
- The unit receives an average census of 19 patients daily.
- Onboarding involves completing core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing; orientation includes onsite modules totaling approximately 4-6 hours for RN staff.
