Job Summary
This is a Medical Surgical Oncology Floor registered nurse position located in Kaunakakai, Hawaii. The role involves caring for both oncology and non-oncology patients within a 15-bed critical access hospital. The RN will be responsible for inpatient chemotherapy administration, mixing IV medications, performing dose calculations, and maintaining compliance with all required certifications and licensing. This position offers a 12-hour shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active/unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license; BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification; Chemotherapy certification; two (2) or more years of staff RN experience in ambulatory oncology; inpatient chemotherapy administration experience; oncology experience with chemotherapy mixing and dose calculations; graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Preferred Qualifications: Oncology-specific certification (e.g., OCN); previous experience working in a critical access hospital setting; experience in ambulatory nursing caring for non-oncology patients; previous travel or Queens Health System experience.
- Additional Information:
- All compliance elements must be met and uploaded at least 10 days before the start date; failure to meet this deadline may result in a delayed or canceled assignment.
- Local Hawaii candidates are encouraged to apply; however, traveler contract rates are not available for residents.
- Candidates with no requested time off (RTO) are preferred.
- At times, the RN may be assigned to roles such as nursing assistant or safety sitter if unit needs dictate.
- The selected nurse must be comfortable mixing IV medications and performing dose calculations.
- This is a 32-hour contract option if desired.
- Current NURSYS report must be submitted with application.
- The start date is scheduled for 08/17/2026.
