Job Summary:
The Oncology/Medical Surgical floor nurse position is located in Asheville, North Carolina. The role involves providing specialized care within a 24-bed unit that focuses on oncology and women's surgical patients. The position requires flexibility to work day shifts and the ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Position: 1 opening
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license (RN or CNA), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Chemo Certification
- Unit Information:
- Number of beds: 24
- Staffing: 1 Certified Nurse Aide, 4-6 Registered Nurses, 2 Certified Nurse Assistants, 1 Health Unit Coordinator per shift
- Patient ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
- Equipment: Standard unit equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
- Typical Procedures: Occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, thoracentesis
- Personality Fit: Team players willing to learn
- Additional Information: Staff may float to other medical-surgical units; team rarely floats. Basic hospital policies and guidelines are followed.
- Schedule details: Staff are required to work six weekend days per schedule.
