Medical Surgical Float Nurse specializing in MedSurg with Rehab experience is needed in a healthcare facility located in Kirksville, Missouri. This full-time position involves providing nursing care to inpatient rehab patients in a 10-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:10. The role offers flexibility in scheduling and location within the unit, with floating assignments mainly to Medical Surgical units based on current competencies. The assignment is scheduled to start on September 14, 2026, for a duration of 13 weeks.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 1+ year experience in Medical Surgical or Rehabilitation nursing, current BLS certification, experience in Rehab/Med Surg, location requirements in Missouri, and appropriate licensure or credentials for practice.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Medical Surgical units.
- Additional Information: This role involves providing nursing care for up to 10 inpatient rehab (Swing) patients. Nurses may absorb Medical-Surgical patients if swing volume decreases. Patients require less nurse-intensive care than traditional Medical-Surgical patients but demand required clinical competencies. Scrub color can be any solid color. EMR system utilized is MedHost. No standing call; placement on call may occur if patient volume supports it, but no more than the 48 hours of call-off time already included in the standard contract. Blocked scheduling requests may be accommodated; no week on/week off schedule applies.
