Travel Med Surg RN – Key Requirements
- 📍 Local travelers accepted (within 50 miles) with a 12% rate reduction
- 🏥 Minimum 1.5 years of Level I, Level II, or tertiary hospital experience
- 🏥 At least 1 year of Med Surg experience in a 450+ bed hospital
- 📋 IN RN License or Compact RN License required
- ❤️ AHA BLS certification required
- 💻 EPIC charting experience required
- 👥 Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
- 🔄 Must be willing to float to other medical units as needed
- 🕒 12-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
- 👕 Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- 📅 Orientation includes 1 day hospital orientation + ~5 days nursing orientation (Epic included)
- 📌 RTO must be disclosed at submission
- 📞 Facility may call off up to 24 hours during a 13-week contract
- ⏳ 8 hours of non-billable orientation
Patient Population
- General Med Surg patients with:
- COPD, CHF, Diabetes, ESRD
- GI disorders (pancreatitis, GI bleed, IBD)
- Infections (sepsis, pneumonia, cellulitis, UTI, C. diff)
- Neurological conditions (stroke, dementia, TBI)
- Mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, substance abuse)
