Minimum Experience: 2+ years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
Position Overview
This is a Rapid Admission Unit caring for general medical and surgical patients, including patients awaiting surgery. The unit has a faster patient turnover than a traditional Medical/Surgical floor.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
- Manage a patient ratio of approximately 5–6 patients per RN.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform assessments.
- Prepare and care for patients awaiting surgical procedures.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent patient admissions and discharges.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a rapid-paced admission environment.
- GAPS registration is required for submission.
- Local candidates are preferred due to longer fingerprinting processing times for non-local applicants.
