Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Topeka, KS 66606
Start Date: September 9, 2026
Location: Topeka, Kansas
Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Option of 36 or 48 hours per week. Four weekend shifts per six-week schedule with holiday rotation as assigned. Patient ratio of 1:5.
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical floor with 29-bed unit and daily census of 20-25 patients
- Diverse patient population including post-surgical bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, oncology, and medical overflow
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- 20-hour orientation with additional onsite module training
- Floating to like units within scope as needed based on facility requirements
- 13-week assignment with flexible scheduling options
Requirements:
- Valid Kansas or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required in hand at submission
- Minimum one year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
- Proficiency in core Med/Surg skills including IV management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, blood product administration, and post-operative care
