Job Summary:
House Supervisor Level 1 in a hospital setting, located in an organization serving the northern San Luis Obispo County. This role involves providing overall supervision of hospital operations, responding to codes, coordinating patient care, and managing staffing. The position ensures smooth facility function and maintains high standards of patient and staff safety, working collaboratively with clinical personnel and administration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shift times from 0600 to 1830 with occasional night shifts from 1800 to 0630. Preference for rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice, and certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Facility-specific certifications such as AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS are required, along with ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in nursing and at least one year of experience working in a critical care or emergency department setting.
- Additional Information: The House Supervisor oversees staff, facilitates patient throughput, responds to medical emergencies, participates in discharge planning, and supervises clinical activities across the hospital. Responsibilities also include guiding new and existing staff, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and addressing patient, family, and staff concerns efficiently.
