Job Summary:
Lactation and Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery in a hospital setting. This role involves providing care to mothers and newborns within a busy Labor & Postpartum Unit, ensuring safe and effective clinical practices during each shift. The position requires flexibility to serve across various shifts, primarily nights, with rotation to evenings as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) certification (every 2 years for Labor & Delivery).
- Preferred Qualifications: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Responsibilities: Care for mothers and babies in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit, including circulating, labor support, postpartum care, and newborn care. Maintain patient safety and comfort, monitor labor progress, and perform assessments. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care adhering to SOPs and clinical protocols.
- Shift Details: The position is primarily a night shift with rotation to evening shifts as needed. The unit operates on a 36 or 48-hour weekly schedule, with a rotation based on unit staffing needs.
- Additional Information: No floating required. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or Postpartum care. The role involves working in an EPIC electronic charting environment.
