Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Salinas, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery department. The nurse will work under the supervision of the director and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning and patient/family education. Adaptability to pediatric and adult patients, as well as collaborative teamwork, are essential components of this position.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shift times, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California RN license, current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP certifications, minimum of two (2) years experience as an Labor & Delivery RN, recent Epic experience (minimum 6-12 months within the past year), travel experience, and familiarity with Baby Friendly initiatives.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner certification, proficiency in care planning, discharge planning, patient assessment, labor and delivery nursing, and patient/family teaching.
  • Responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, developing and coordinating care plans, collaborating with physicians and team members, evaluating patient responses, and participating in departmental goals and activities.
  • Additional requirements include a flexible approach to hospital and unit activities, acting as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned, and ensuring safety policies are followed.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver age-appropriate patient care.
