Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves providing high-quality obstetric care in a Level II trauma center with a robust NICU. The role requires managing high-risk pregnancies, conducting cervical checks, interpreting fetal monitoring strips, and supporting both vaginal and cesarean deliveries during night shifts. The candidate will function as a charge nurse on occasion and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 40-hour workweek, scheduled in 6-week cycles.
- Required Qualifications: Congenital Certifications including BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN). Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse with 0+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with at least 2 years of previous nursing experience and prior travel experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience functioning as a Charge Nurse, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records, and familiarity with obstetric technologies such as fetal monitoring systems, epidural pumps, and neonatal resuscitation.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing high-acuity obstetric patients, supporting staff with patient care, and assisting during high-risk deliveries. Orientation includes hospital and unit-specific training, with a provisioning of scrubs and free parking. The position offers flexibility for picking up additional shifts and no holiday coverage requirements.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to antepartum (within labor and delivery) and postpartum units, as needed, within scope and experience.
