Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialization is based in a rural hospital setting in Dickinson, North Dakota. This role involves providing specialized care in a unit with four labor and four postpartum beds, following AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios. The position entails managing antepartum and postpartum patients, performing clinical duties such as assisting with deliveries, and troubleshooting neonatal Ventilator equipment. The schedule includes 12-hour night shifts with every third weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

- Required Qualifications: Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); Education: RN license; Experience: 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; Location: North Dakota; No specific degree required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of OB patient care, neonatal ventilation support skills, independence, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Following AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, managing neonatal vent-CPAP, BiPAP, high flow systems, trouble-shooting neonatal ventilators, caring for labor and postpartum patients with diagnoses such as >35 weeks in labor, Mom/Baby couplets, and administering titratable drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, Zofran, etc.
- Additional Information: Floating to MSP/ED for assistance, primarily sitting 1:1 with patients. Limited services due to distance from NICU (>1 hour away). Requires knowledge of electronic fetal monitoring system and OB trace Vue. The unit prioritizes teamwork, provider consistency, independence, and good communication. RTO needed upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract). The facility can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
