Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Department This position is located in the labor and delivery unit and involves providing specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The role requires independently using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, demonstrating age-specific competencies and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details:
- Shift: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: California Nursing License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification, at least 2 years of experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, labor and delivery experience
- Certifications: Valid California nursing license must be uploaded within the last 2 weeks, with applicable certifications uploaded with valid expiration dates
- Additional Information: The role involves working with neonatal and adult patient age groups, with 10 beds in the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Candidates must complete all onboarding labs within 3-5 days of contract signing and provide a 7-year work history verification. All compliance documents are due 10 days prior to the start date.
