Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in a level 1 maternity and nursery unit within a healthcare facility. This role involves providing care for obstetric, postpartum, and newborn patients in a highly variable and fast-paced environment, adhering to AWHONN guidelines. The position offers rotating shifts, with a potential for on-call duties, and a focus on teamwork, resilience, and clinical competency.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, with an average of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS, Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in Obstetrics and Labor and Delivery, critical access hospital experience highly preferred, EPIC charting experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: AHA or ARC certifications, Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
  • Float Requirements: Float to Medical/Surgical, Emergency Room, or Intensive Care Unit for non-patient care tasks as needed, no patient assignment or isolation room duties.
  • Additional Information: No more than 7 days of requested time off; the unit includes 2 labor rooms and 6 postpartum beds, with an average of 10 deliveries per month. Nurses share responsibilities across labor, postpartum, and nursery care, following AWHONN staffing guidelines.
  • Schedule: 12-hour day/night variable shifts, 36 hours minimum weekly, with weekend and holiday rotations.
  • Other notes: No additional on-call or backup requirements. On-call hours may be available and count toward low census hours. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times, in accordance with facility policy.
