Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) position is available in Anchorage, Alaska. This assignment involves working in a high-risk obstetric unit within a magnet designation healthcare facility. The role offers an opportunity to care for antepartum and postpartum patients, including high-risk deliveries, in a dynamic environment. The scheduled shift is 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on September 8, 2026.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, with a schedule that may flip every 4 weeks if coverage alternates between day and night shifts.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP; at least 1 year of experience; willingness to train as charge nurse preferred; experience with charting system Epic.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience or willingness to train as charge nurse; trauma Level II experience; recent community hospital experience.
- Additional Information: This role involves working in a high-acuity obstetric environment with staff support such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and interpretation services. The unit handles an average of 7 deliveries daily, often with up to 14 patients, including high-risk antepartum cases. Must have current licensure in hand for automatic offer; pending licenses accepted but must be ready to begin. Candidates must be willing to work two major holidays and be located at least 50 miles from the facility. Travel-related documentation and references are required.
