Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a birthing center setting stationed in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing professional nursing care for laboring patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will supervise and collaborate with a team of care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes during active labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan licensed registered nurse (RN) license; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification; current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification; 2 years of current Birthing Center experience; experience with laboring patients, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum; willingness to obtain NRP certification if not active; prior travel experience preferred; must specify travel address in profile; must have own vehicle; all requests for time off or schedule changes must be made at the time of submission.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience; active NRP certification.
  • Additional Information: The facility has 11 labor, delivery, and recovery post (LDRP) rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 1 operating room. Nurse-to-patient ratios include 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction, 1:3 for couplets, and 1:2 for early labor patients. Credential verification includes Skills Checklist current within the last year and reference forms completed within the last two years.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
