Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to women during childbirth and postpartum, assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and educating families. The position reports directly to the Unit Director and focuses on supporting optimal health outcomes for mothers, neonates, and families.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited registered nurse program, active Pennsylvania RN licensure, current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (renewed every two years), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (renewed every two years), and Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (renewed every two years).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D) nursing, strong communication skills, ability to work effectively within a team, and experience supporting families through childbirth and postpartum care.
  • Position Responsibilities:
    • Assessing patient and family developmental levels, health status, and history.
    • Performing initial assessment and stabilization of neonates.
    • Developing and executing care plans tailored to physical and educational needs.
    • Providing patient and family education on self-care and newborn care.
    • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic family health.
    • Supporting a safe environment conducive to health and recovery.
    • Maintaining professional competency through ongoing education and skills updates.
  • Additional Information: This position requires the ability to function with minimal supervision, demonstrating professionalism, tact, and sound judgment when interacting with patients and families. A strong emphasis is placed on communication skills and emotional resilience in dealing with sensitive situations.
