Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position is based in the department specialized in obstetric and neonatal care. Located in Dickson, Tennessee, the role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a designated level II Labor and Delivery department, with a focus on supporting mothers through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, as well as Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patient management. The unit features advanced equipment and a highly experienced team dedicated to delivering quality maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Location: Dickson, Tennessee
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, including labor and recovery of mothers, newborn assessment and transition, skills in shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and obstetric emergencies. Certifications required include BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Fetal Monitoring training.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inductions (e.g., Pitocin, cervidil), advanced fetal monitoring education, and proficiency in procedures such as C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and assisted deliveries with vacuum or forceps.
  • Patient Care Responsibilities: Daily rounding on all patients, safety rounding, and active management of obstetric and neonatal clients in a high-acuity setting.
  • Equipment and Systems: Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps; documentation in Meditech and CPN systems.
  • Unit Environment: Supportive, experienced team of RN staff, with approximately 30 years average experience each, offering mentorship and a collaborative work environment.
