Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse position is located in a busy maternity unit, providing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The role involves managing vaginal and cesarean deliveries, performing obstetric and neonatal assessments, and supporting patient transition through the childbirth process. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours shift time, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); applicable education credentials; and at least 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with device placement such as internal fetal monitoring (IUPC) and fetal scope (FSE), and familiarity with newborn transition procedures.
- Additional Information: The unit has 11 beds with a staff of 34, including RNs, surgical technicians, and charge nurses. The team utilizes standard GE labor and fetal monitoring equipment, wireless monitoring devices, Baxter intravenous pumps, and the Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system. Rotating weekends and on-call duties are part of the schedule; on-call is not required.
