Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Eureka, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. 40 hours of orientation provided.
Highlights:
- Six-month travel assignment (182 days) in a culturally diverse Labor and Delivery unit
- Care for high-risk obstetric patients with an average daily census of 15-20 patients
- 11 rooms with 15 beds; approximately 20 patient visits per day
- RNs circulate on cesarean sections and provide comprehensive perinatal care
- Postpartum experience preferred; float opportunities available within scope of practice
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and qualifications
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Epic charting system experience required
- Patient ratio experience of 1:3
- Proficiency in essential L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
