Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Anchorage, AK 99508
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required. Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period. Schedule may flip between nights and days every 4 weeks based on unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma facility
- Comprehensive unit with 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
- Average 7 deliveries daily with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
- Charge nurse experience preferred, or willingness to train for charge responsibilities
- Epic charting system with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 13-week travel assignment with competitive compensation and support
Requirements:
- Active Alaska RN license (must be in hand for expedited offer; pending licenses accepted for initial submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
- May be required to float to similar units within scope of practice
