Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Orange, CA 92868
Start Date: September 15, 2026
Location: Orange County, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Patient ratios of 1-2 patients. Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Highlights:
- Work at a 426-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital with a very high-risk Labor and Delivery unit
- Gain experience with diverse and complex pregnancy diagnoses including pre-eclampsia, multiples, fetal anomalies, and high-risk antepartum cases
- Comprehensive orientation of 72 hours with Epic charting system
- Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

- 13-week assignment with potential for extension
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
- Experience in large hospital settings highly preferred
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (required), AWHONN Advanced (preferred). NCC EFM certification accepted in place of Intermediate AWHONN
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections
- Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams
- Required skills: assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, cervical cerclage, D&C, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, antihypertensives, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and use of external fetal monitoring
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Clean background check required
