Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Torrance, CA 90503
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Torrance, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend flexibility required. Patient ratio 2:1. May be required to float to Mother/Baby unit and potentially to other facilities within the region.
Highlights:
- 356-bed acute care hospital with 21-bed Labor and Delivery unit serving approximately 210 daily census
- Epic charting system with free parking available
- Care for low and high-risk labor patients including TOLAC, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues
- Precepting skills preferred; strong caregiving skills essential for supporting evening shift operations
- Baby Friendly protocols with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
- 24-hour orientation provided with guaranteed hours (facility may call off once per two-week pay period)
Requirements:
- Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; travel experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM in lieu of Advanced AWHONN)
- Epic charting system experience required
- LA County Fire Card obtained within the last 30 days
- Comprehensive L&D skills including circulating and recovering cesarean sections, applying internal monitoring devices (FSE and IUPC), managing PPH with Bakri and JADA, blood transfusion, Belmont Rapid infuser, and newborn care
- Ability to perform non-stress tests, set up delivery tables, and provide breastfeeding support
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
