Responsibilities
- Assess childbearing women (adolescence to middle adulthood), neonates, and family needs.
- Develop and implement a plan of care to meet identified needs.
- Perform initial assessment and stabilization of the neonate.
- Evaluate nursing care based on outcomes for the population served.
- Teach self-care and newborn care to patients and families.
- Promote understanding of family relationships' influence on health status.
- Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines for families at risk.
- Facilitate interaction between family members to promote bonding.
- Maintain knowledge, skills, and competency in the care of women and infants.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Completion of an accredited registered nurse program.
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
- Must be experienced in EPIC.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed every two years.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, renewed every two years.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, renewed every two years.
- Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance.
