• Schedule Notes: Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Work Setting: On-site

Registered Nurse Requirements

• 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty required
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current NRP certification
• Current ACLS certification (AHA)
• Current fetal monitoring certification: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Perinatal RN residency or recent women’s health nursing experience preferred
• Ability to complete onboarding, annual competencies, and unit-specific validation requirements

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients in Labor & Delivery
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Support patients and families through the emotional, physical, and educational needs of the perinatal experience
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Document patient history, symptoms, care provided, and response to treatment accurately and thoroughly
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans, expectations, and available resources
• Collaborate with the care team and make appropriate assignments or delegate tasks when needed
• Maintain strong clinical judgment while adapting to changing patient needs in a dynamic L&D environment
