Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Mother Baby unit, located in Overland Park, KS. This position involves providing comprehensive postpartum and newborn care within a 26-bed postpartum unit. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, education, and ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and their newborns. The role requires a focus on patient safety, unit workflow, and adherence to hospital policies, with opportunities to work with advanced equipment and contribute to a compassionate care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BLS certification, NRP certification, no minimum years of experience specified.
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree.
- Certifications Required: BLS, NRP.
- Additional Information: The RN will provide discharge education, assess patient risks such as sepsis and VTE/DVT, manage pain, and prioritize patient needs based on acuity. Units utilize documentation systems including CPN and Meditech. The role involves working within womens services, with cross-training opportunities in pediatrics and NICU. No on-call responsibilities are required. The team values experienced staff and a collaborative environment.
