Job Summary:
Infusion Nurse Outpatient Oncology. This position is located in a cancer treatment center where outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy are administered. The role involves providing comprehensive patient-centered care, including medication administration, patient education, symptom management, and care coordination. The Infusion Nurse collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with professional standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred. One (1) to two (2) years of experience in ambulatory oncology. Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (RN). ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification is required. Oncology Nurse (OCN) certification is required after 2 years of hire or upon reaching 2,000 hours of oncology nursing practice. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to practice independently as well as within a team are required. Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Effective communication with patients, peers, physicians, and family members is essential.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in outpatient chemo infusion preferred.
- Additional Information: The role involves care planning, symptom management, outpatient service coordination, and adherence to the American Nurses Association (ANA) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) standards of practice.
