Job Summary:
Infection Control specialist, Infection Control for a healthcare organization in an acute care setting. The position involves working independently to implement and oversee infection prevention protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of infection prevention and control measures, with a focus on patient safety and healthcare quality.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, start date 09/15/2026 and end date 12/15/2026.
- Required Qualifications: CIC certification; degree in Public Health, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or related health science field; 1 year of infection prevention experience; current state license; experience working in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system; familiarity with CDC guidelines, CMS State Operations Manual, and the Joint Commission standards; strong knowledge of healthcare-associated infections, antibiotic stewardship, and disease reporting.
- Additional Information: The selected candidate will work in a 426-bed acute care hospital, with a focus on infection prevention, surveillance, and employee education. The role does not require RN licensure but must demonstrate sufficient infection prevention expertise and the ability to operate independently. Candidates must be able to work daytime hours, with guaranteed hours per pay period and willingness to work scheduled holidays as required.
