Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) Duluth, Minnesota. This position involves providing advanced nursing care in a 22-bed Intermediate Care Unit. Responsibilities include caring for complex medical patients, conducting neuro assessments, managing wound care and antibiotic therapy, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role demands resilience, independence, and the ability to manage change effectively.
Job Details:
- Location: Duluth, Minnesota
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), at least 1 year of Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) experience, associate degree or certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated contract experience in colder climates during winter to ensure reliability through weather events
- Shift Requirements: 12-hour nights
- Float: Float rotation may be required to inpatient units
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: Call back minimum is 2 hours; can be low censused and put on call
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend or less, holidays as assigned
- Additional Information:
- Contract duration: 13 weeks, starting on 08/31/2026, with options for similar start dates
- Candidate must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Guaranteed weekly hours, except during holidays when the unit may be closed
- The unit is focused on complex medical patients, including cases involving alcohol intoxication, cerebrovascular accidents, sepsis, wound care, and neuro assessments
- Responsibilities include managing shared unit call lights and alarms, and assisting as a helping hand when needed
