Job Summary:
The IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) registered nurse position is located in Burlington, Vermont. This role involves providing specialized care within a progressive care setting, supporting units including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular, urology, and cardiology. The nurse will float to various units as needed and must be adaptable to a dynamic patient care environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Rotating day/night shifts
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
    • At least 2 years of experience in a large trauma level 1 teaching facility setting
    • Experience in cardiology, specifically with post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart patients
    • Recent EPIC electronic medical record experience (within the past 2 years)
  • Additional Information:
    • This position is part of a float pool, supporting multiple units including hematology, oncology, orthopedics, medical tele, general surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, ENT, and GYN
    • The role requires flexibility with scheduling, including working every other weekend
    • All employment history, including bed counts, EMR, and facility details, must be fully completed for submission
    • This is a non-block schedule position; off days are not predetermined
    • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
    • Reliable transportation is required as public transportation is not accessible in this area
