Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
📍 Location: Bel Air, Maryland
🏥 Facility: University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center
⏳ Contract: 20 Weeks
🕐 Shift: Nights | 3×12 Hours
⏰ Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Requirements
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
-
BLS required
-
ACLS required
-
NIHSS required
-
EPIC charting experience
-
First-time travelers welcome
-
Strong critical-care experience required
-
Must be comfortable floating within specialty/acuity
-
Weekend coverage: Every 3rd weekend
-
No on-call requirement
Patient Population & Clinical Experience
The ICU cares for adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of critical conditions, including:

ICU / Surgical ICU
-
Stroke
-
Renal failure requiring CRRT/CVVHD
-
MI requiring IABP
-
Respiratory failure
-
Pneumonia
-
Post-cardiac arrest
-
DKA
-
High-acuity surgical patients
-
Rotoprone therapy
Critical Care Skills
Experience with the following is highly desirable:

Care of ventilated patients
-
Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
-
ABG interpretation
-
Continuous IV sedation
-
Emergency medications
-
Central line management
-
PICC line management
-
Blood product administration
-
Starting and maintaining IVs
-
CRRT/CVVHD
-
Hypothermia protocols / Arctic Sun

Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Cardiac monitoring
-
IABP
-
Infection prevention
