Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, ICU – Athens, TX 75751
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Athens, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Block scheduling approved. 8-week assignment ending November 3, 2026.
Highlights:
- 10-bed ICU unit with manageable 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on all shifts
- Flexible scheduling with block schedule options available
- Epic charting system with 24-36 hours of orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Adult and geriatric patient population with average daily census of 8 patients
- One pre-approved time off period available during contract
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with 2:1 or 3:1 patient ratios
- Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line care, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris
