Job Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-volume academic medical center setting. The ICU RN will be responsible for managing complex patients requiring advanced cardiovascular support, mechanical circulatory devices, and multi-organ support therapies within a dynamic environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between day and night, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment start date is 09/22/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, BSN degree, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, and at least 4 years of recent ICU or CVICU/CTICU/CCU experience. Ability to float to other hospital departments and UCSF facilities. Must have recent experience caring for ECMO patients, with specific proficiency in managing ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VA ECMO, VV ECMO, VV ECMO-PA, ECMO with Pulmonary Artery (PA) Catheter, RRT (NxStage), and experience in an academic medical center.
- Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently manage complex critical care patients, especially those on multiple support devices. Prior experience with advanced cardiovascular support populations and transplant recovery is highly desirable. Ability to float within multiple ICU units, ED, and PACU is required. RTO requests must be disclosed at time of offer, with approvals obtained prior to contract start.
