Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing position is located in the healthcare facility's critical care departments. This role involves caring for ventilated patients, initiating and titrating intravenous drips such as vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics, and assisting with procedures like intubations and line placements. The nurse will monitor critically ill patients primarily diagnosed with sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia. The assignment requires flexibility to float across ICU, Progressive Care, and Medical Surgical units based on patient care needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including a traditional weekday plus weekend rotation.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (AHA) certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience, Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience.
  • Float: Float to all ICU, Progressive Care, and Medical Surgical units with a maximum ratio of 1:3 across all units.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit utilizes Phillips heart monitors, Epic electronic medical record system, Pyxis medication dispensing system, EKG machine, and dopplers.
    • The unit is a mixed acuity setting with 24-bed Medical ICU and 12-bed Progressive Care units.
    • The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:3 in ICU and 1:3 or 1:4 in Progressive Care.
    • Dress code requires Caribbean blue scrubs with black, white, or Caribbean blue jackets.
    • Orientation includes onboarding through workforce development and a one-day review of policies and Epic training.
    • The assignment runs from 08/31/2026 to 02/01/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week and start date flexibility.
    • Candidates should be prepared to submit licenses and certifications as required.
