Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specialty position is located in Yakima, Washington. This role involves providing patient care for diverse patient populations, including those with respiratory distress, cardiac conditions, post-surgical status, and other critical illnesses. The position offers an opportunity to work in a non-profit community hospital setting with state-of-the-art equipment and collaborative teams.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support). The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with above and below patient types, chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths; experience with arterial lines, Impella, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) is preferred.
- Patient Types: CHF, respiratory distress, acute coronary syndrome, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, diabetes mellitus, blood product administration, bipap, cerebrovascular accident overflow, post-cardiac catheterization patients, surgical vascular and abdominal patients, GI patients, and those on drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin.
- Additional Information: The unit typically manages both intensive care and telemetry patients. The facility has 226 beds and maintains a program called SimpliFi Travel. There is no weekend rotation; the role is not on-call, and a variety of professional-colored scrubs are acceptable.
