Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position available in Illinois. This role involves providing advanced patient care in a 12-bed ICU setting, managing complex conditions such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, MI, DKA, and COVID. The position requires critical care expertise, including titration of common ICU drips, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Location: 1 ST ANTHONYS WAY, Alton, Illinois, 62002
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; active ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certifications; at least 2 years of ICU experience; BSN preferred.
  • Shift Notes: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend and holiday work required.
  • Orientation: The first 3 days include online modules and on-floor training.
  • Float Policy: RN float to Medical Surgical units if needed.
  • Team & Staffing: Charge nurses and hospitalists available 24/7; no nurse aides or patient care techs on this unit.
  • Equipment & Monitoring: RNs troubleshoot ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow devices, and interpret cardiac rhythms; tele monitor techs monitor ICU patients in-house.
  • Additional Requirements: RNs are required to read cardiac rhythm strips and titrate ICU drips including paralytics, sedatives, and medications like Cardizem and Amio.
